Welcome! I am Evgeny Zilberov, a certified Russian legal translator and interpreter specializing in translation of legal, government, citizenship and immigration, academic, professional, commercial, and other official documents for use in Canada and internationally – from Russia to USA to Kazakhstan to Belarus to Uzbekistan to many other jurisdictions.
I am a member in good standing of major national and international professional associations and federations recognized worldwide (ATA, UTR, FIT) and have had a continuous full-time translation practice in Calgary since 2004 working with clients from all provinces / territories of Canada and from across the globe!
I am also a Commissioner for Oaths in and for Alberta appointed by the Ministry of Justice and Solicitor General of Alberta. For more information please visit the official website of my commissioner for oaths practice.
My clients range from individual customers to Government of Canada agencies, and my background includes a university degree in Russian Law, post-graduate degree in Translation and Interpreting (with specialization in Legal Translation), years of law practice in Russia (I am a former Defence Lawyer / Barrister and Solicitor, member of the Bar), professional knowledge of the Russian legal system, documentation standards and traditions, as well as over two decades of providing translation services to governments, law firms, businesses, manufacturers, exporters, professional federations, Olympic committees, video and sound recording studios, universities, colleges, and individual clients.
Since the beginning of my career as a translator in 1995, I have translated seven books that were published and sold in Canada, USA, Netherlands, and Russia. My most recent published work as a Russian to English translator is A Countess in Limbo: Diaries in War & Revolution.
I work with large and small projects, from a single stamp in a passport to massive legal files. All orders are treated with consistent professional care and all documents are thoroughly proofed to ensure impeccable quality. No corners are cut and attention is paid to the finest detail.
Unlike occasional translation practitioners, I stand behind my translation products and I am always there to provide support and advice. It is not uncommon that a customer may require another copy of certified translation of their document years after the original translation had been delivered. Such updated copies of my translations can be prepared at a fraction of the regular fees and as quickly as within an hour! The success of my translation practice is built on repeat business and kind referrals, and I take pride in the confidence and trust my clients have in me.
With my professional legal background and 19 years of full-time Russian translation practice in Calgary, I am trusted with confidential, proprietary, and sensitive information. As a client, you will discuss your project details with me directly and I guarantee that all work will be done by me personally, with each and every stitch made with you in mind. When you work with me, your documents and personal information remain confidential and will never be outsourced to or shared with any third parties in Canada or abroad. All projects are 100% made in Canada. Made by me.
